13 Days to Pray

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:2 NIV)

Abba, what do I pray about today?

What is on your heart, Child?

The sheer amount of deception and demonic influences – from advertising to money to false promises – in this election process.

Then pray about it.

All Powerful God,

I come to You today, grateful that You are in control of our situation, that You call us to pray and act in ways that influence our world, and that our ultimate hope is in You. God, I certainly don’t understand all the spiritual components of this world, but I am grateful that I don’t have to because I can trust You—even in the Valley of the Shadow of Death. You are with me, and I will not fear. Thank You for that reassurance.

God, there seem to be so many deceptions in our political campaigns. So many messages are designed not just to tear people down but to outright lie about who they are. So much money is spent to promote evil. So much advertising gives people false promises that the government will provide them with a bright future. God, we know that You call us to trust in You as our Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and not to give our allegiance to any other gods above You—including the government.

God, I pray for discernment for the electorate, and especially for Your children. May we have ears to hear Your voice, recognize the lies of the enemy of our souls, and stand firm in faith upon Your promises. Help each voter make choices that honor You, thwart the plans of the enemy, and help preserve this nation for our children’s children. I ask this in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
