January 16, 2021 Prayer – Faithfulness, righteousness, lovingkindness

Faithful and Righteous God,

Your goodness and lovingkindness is forever; we will make known your faithfulness from generation to generation.  Thank you that your lovingkindness and faithfulness are with us in a world that has great tribulation, distress, and suffering.  Thank you that you have overcome the world and we may have perfect peace and courage.  Help us to hold tight to you, our Overcomer, and to live our identity as children of Light in a dark world.  Help us to be deep in your Word and prayer, and to be in constant communion with you; help us ask what You are seeing, hearing and doing and how we can align our lives and actions with yours.  Teach us how you want us to move to reform this world we are in; teach us how to bring your Spirit-led reformation into places of deep corruption and wickedness. Give us discernment to know and pursue what is GOOD; help us not to call something evil “good,” or something that is good “evil.”  We know that you warn those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight; help us to see this world through your eyes and your sight so that we may discern what is good and what is of you.  Thank you that you, the Lord Almighty, will be exalted by your justice and proved holy by your righteous acts.  May we, your Church, bring you glory and honor and praise with our words and deeds.  In the holy name of Christ we pray, Amen.

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]. (John 16:33 AMP)

“But the Lord Almighty will be exalted by his justice,
and the holy God will be proved holy by his righteous acts.
Woe to those who draw sin along with cords of deceit,
and wickedness as with cart ropes…
Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
and clever in their own sight.” (Isaiah 5:16, 18, 20-21 NIV)

“I will sing of the goodness and lovingkindness
of the Lord forever;
With my mouth I will make known
Your faithfulness from generation to generation.
For I have said, “Goodness and lovingkindness
will be built up forever;
In the heavens [unchangeable and majestic]
You will establish Your faithfulness.” (Psalm 89:1-2 AMP)
