December 13, 2020 Prayer – Righteous Judges

 Sovereign Lord,

Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.  You created the systems of justice for the Israelites upon which our modern systems are based.  Your Spirit continues to guide those whose hearts are soft toward you, those who seek to honor you with their lives.  Today we pray that you would soften the hearts of those in the legal profession, especially judges, to they can be instruments of your Justice and Truth.  We thank you for those who are walking with you and seeking your Wisdom, but we pray that you would cause a great hunger for your Word in those that are currently chasing the idols of power, riches, or even the anti-Christ spirits of this world. You are not pleased with arrogance or wickedness or lies and deceit.  For those in the legal profession who are devoted to vile and detestable ways, let their intrigues be their downfall.  Bring them to a place of repentance and give them undivided hearts and your right Spirit within them.  Let all who take refuge in you be glad and sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. Bless the righteous and surround them with your favor as with a shield. We pray in Jesus’s name, Amen.

Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” (Rev. 4:11 ESV)
“‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.’ “They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols. I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.” (Ezekiel 11:17-21)
“He is the Maker of heaven and earth,    the sea, and everything in them—    he remains faithful forever.” (Psalm 146:6)
4 “For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;    with you, evil people are not welcome.5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong;6     you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful    you, Lord, detest.9 Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;    their heart is filled with malice.10 Declare them guilty, O God!    Let their intrigues be their downfall.Banish them for their many sins,    for they have rebelled against you.11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;    let them ever sing for joy.Spread your protection over them,    that those who love your name may rejoice in you.12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;    you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” (Psalm 5)
