Omnipotent God,
In these last weeks before the Nov. 8 election there are many people voting early. I pray that every legal citizen who chooses to vote by absentee will prayerfully fill out the ballot, guided by Holy Spirit. I pray that the eligible voters who need assistance will have men and women of integrity to help them submit their vote. I pray that every legal vote is counted fairly, tallied correctly, and then recorded accurately. I pray in the name of Jesus that you would thwart anyone who plans to dishonor the legal ballot process – by registering and voting multiple times, by sabotaging election equipment or ballots, by allowing ineligible persons to vote, by altering ballots, by intimidating any voters or election personnel, or in doing anything else that would in any way cause an honest vote not to be cast and counted honestly. We pray for a voting process free from fraud, manipulation, or dishonesty. We pray that our election system would function well and the will of the electorate would be expressed accurately.
In the holy name of Jesus I pray,
Amen
“Food gained by fraud tastes sweet, but one ends up with a mouth full of gravel.” (Proverbs 20:17)
“They have sunk deep into corruption, as in the days of Gibeah. God will remember their wickedness and punish them for their sins.” (Hosea 9:9)
“Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him.” (Isaiah 1:4)
“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.” (2 Chronicles 7:13-16 NIV)
