Upholding and Encouraging God,
Today we pray for those who are weary of the battle. Sometimes in our own lives, we face battles in relationships, finances, health, decision-making, and a host of other things. Give us strength when we feel we cannot go on. We ask for strength for exhausted health-care workers, teachers buffeted by the changes of this school year, business owners whose livelihoods are being eviscerated by government edicts, and parents trying to balance caring for children in the spiritual battle of this season. Give them strength, provision, and wisdom as they navigate the battles they fight. And we especially lift up those who are praying for our nation. There is not human organization or institution that can overcome the level of corruption and evil we have unless You and your prayer army fight for this nation. We, your prayer army, want to know your desires and purposes so we can join you in defeating the enemy of our nation in the spiritual realm. We want to do what you want for this nation – no matter the person, political party, or place of influence. And sometimes it feels like the battle is too long or hard for us to endure; yet you give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. You promise that if we do not give up we will reap the harvest you have planned. Keep us alert and praying for our nation and for each other because we know that sin condemns a people, but righteousness exalts a nation. Hold up our prayer “arms” so we prevail in this battle, Lord. The enemy of our soul will not win the battles in our individual lives and for this nation. May you receive the glory and honor from the victories to come! In Christ’s name we pray, Amen!
“Joshua did as Moses commanded him and went out to fight the Amalekites, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his arms, the Israelites won, but when he put his arms down, the Amalekites started winning. When Moses’ arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites.” (Ex. 17:10-13 GNT)
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (Isa. 40:29)
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Gal. 6:9)
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Eph. 6:18)
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.” (Prov. 14:34)
