October 30, 2020 Prayer

God of Peace,

Today we pray against and bind the spirits of anxiety in this nation. Many people are not living in your Peace, but are immersed in fear of disease, economic travail, political turmoil, and societal conflict. Help them – especially those who call on you as Lord – to remember that you are their Peace, the One who stills the storm. Help them to think on things that are true, noble, right, admirable, lovely, pure, excellent, and praiseworthy. Pour out your peace upon us as we seek to make our thoughts yours. Help us not be overwhelmed by these evil and anxious thoughts and feelings, but to conquer this evil with good – in thought, word, and in deed. May our eyes be open and our ears attentive to your voice and may we seek you for Peace. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
