[Please join me in praying for children, families, and our future on Thursdays this year.]
Let us pray and declare the following over our families today:
- We will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and of people. (Proverbs 3:4)
- God’s Spirit will not depart from us or our family, and the words he has put in our mouths will be on the lips of us, our children, and their descendants forever. (Isaiah 59:21)
- We will study diligently, apply our hearts to instruction, and listen to words of God’s wisdom and knowledge. (Proverbs 23:12)
- We will train ourselves to distinguish good from evil as, by constant use, we eat spiritual food. This spiritual maturity leads to sound judgment and discernment. (Hebrews 5:14)
- We will be very careful in how we live, not as foolish or unwise, but as wise, understanding the Lord’s will and making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15-17)
Loving God,
Thank you for being the One who builds marriages, families, and households. Thank you for giving us your Word to guide us in these endeavors. Today we pray that we will study your Word, apply our hearts to your instruction, and listen to your wisdom and knowledge. Help us have the willingness, courage, and self-discipline to train ourselves with your spiritual food to know what is good and what is evil. Give us spiritual maturity so we can have sound judgment and discernment. Help us to be careful in how we live, understanding the Lord’s will and making the most of every opportunity to live as wise and not foolish people, because the evil is prevalent in these days. We pray your Spirit will not depart from us or our families and that the Word you have put in our mouths will be on our lips and the lips of our descendants forever. We ask these in the strong name of Jesus Christ and with the empowerment of Holy Spirit, AMEN.
“Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.” (Proverbs 3:4 TPT)
““As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever,” says the Lord.” (Isaiah 59:21 NIV)
“Commit yourself to instruction; listen carefully to words of knowledge.” (Proverbs 23:12 NLT)
“But solid food is for the [spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil.” (Hebrews 5:14 AMP)
“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” (Ephesians 5:15-17 NLT)
