Prospering families

[Please join me in praying for children, families, and our future on Thursdays this year.]

“Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands.” (Psalm 112:1 NIV)

Let us pray the following over our families today:

  1. We will not seen the righteous forsaken or their descendents begging bread.  (Psalm 37:25)
  2. Our fear of the Lord will be a sure foundation for these times.  God gives a rich store of salvation, wisdom and knowledge.  (Isaiah 33:6)
  3. We will not waste time on idleness, gossip, discontent, and self pity. (Proverbs 31:27)
  4. We will know ourselves as blessed – happy, fortunate, and enviable. (Proverbs 31:28)
  5. God will repay us for the years the locusts have eaten and we will have plenty. (Joel 2:25-26)
  6. Through wisdom our days will be many and years will be added to our lives.  (Proverbs 9:11)

God of Families,

We lift up a song of praise to you, God of Glory and Strength. You have given your people power, prosperity, dignity, and preeminence, and we praise you for your faithfulness and lovingkindness. Thank you for your Word that is a firm foundation in these times. Thank you that you are a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. May we not waste time on idleness, gossip, discontent, or self pity, but may we believe and see ourselves as blessed – happy, fortunate, and enviable – no matter what our circumstances. Help us to remember that your justice and judgement are perfect, and that you have promised your faithful children that you will repay that which the “locusts” of this world have stolen. We hold fast to the promise that you will not abandon the righteous, but that through your Wisdom our days will be many and years added to our lives. Help each family to honor you with their hearts and lives so that they prosper and flourish in the present and future, we ask in Jesus’s name, AMEN.

“The household of the wicked is soon torn apart, while the family of the righteous flourishes.” (Proverbs 14:11 TPT)

“Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!” (Psalm 96:7 ESV)

“My faithfulness and My mercy and loving-kindness shall be with him, and in My name shall his horn be exalted [great power and prosperity shall be conferred upon him].” (Psalm 89:24 AMPC)

“He has lifted up a horn for His people [giving them power, prosperity, dignity, and preeminence], a song of praise for all His godly ones, for the people of Israel, who are near to Him. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)” (Psalm 148:14 AMPC)

“I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25 NIV)

“He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.” (Isaiah 33:6 NIV)

“She looks well to how things go in her household, and the bread of idleness (gossip, discontent, and self-pity) she will not eat. Her children rise up and call her blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied); and her husband boasts of and praises her” (Proverbs 31:27-28 AMPC)

“And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten—the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the crawling locust, My great army which I sent among you.” (Joel 2:25-26 AMPC)

“For by me (wisdom from God) your days will be multiplied, And years of life shall be increased.” (Proverbs 9:11 AMP)
