Sunday Rush Hour

[Please join me in praying for the Church on Sundays this year.]

“As [Paul and Timothy] traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem for the people to obey. So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.” (Acts 16:4-5 NIV)

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.” (2 Thessalonians 1:3-4 NIV)

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV)

God,

Every Sunday morning as I drive in town to church I realize how un-busy the roads are. I wish that everyone everywhere was on the roads and headed to a local church so that rush hour was Sunday morning. Without a strong, wide, and deep move of Holy Spirit, I don’t see that happening, but I know you are able so I pray for that move, in Jesus’s name. Other than that, I don’t have a real leading on how to pray for your Church this morning. I kind of feel like I’ve prayed over just about every aspect, so, I guess, I’ll just pray that you continue to call your Church into the fullness of what you have created her to be. May your Church be strengthened in faith, may it grow daily in numbers, may our love increase, and may we have godly perseverance in trials, sufferings, and struggles. Now to you who are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Holy Spirit’s power within us. – – to you be glory in the Church through Christ in all places and all times, forever and ever, AMEN!!
