Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
(Psalm 42:7-8 NIV)
We seem to be living in a time that has so much chaos – political, economic, international, spiritual, relationship, and so much more. If you read the news regularly it’s easy to become overwhelmed by it all. And if you have a bit of chaos in your own life’s circumstances, that makes things that much more challenging. It can be easy to become distracted within or discouraged about the world we live in. If you or someone you know is struggling right now, I invite you to hear these strong and encouraging words as if God is speaking them directly into your soul.
“The opposition that has come against you is due to the glory I am about to reveal for you and through you. The enemy wants to distract you and make you believe that I will not fulfill my promises. You have stood your ground, but weariness is knocking on your door. Beloved, don’t give up. Though the enemy has attempted to sift your faith and steal from you, I am coming to avenge you.
“I call you to walk with active faith, to roar your promises with passion and power, to remind yourself that I am a righteous King who never forgets nor turns away from those I love. I call you to resist the temptation to despair, to look with faith-filled expectation instead of doubt-infused predictions. This is not the time to yield to the temptation to break down and give up. It is time to take up your shield of faith and slice through the darkness with the sword of my Word.
I’m coming to overturn the plans of the enemy that have been put into motion against you. You will see my goodness.” *
Victorious God,
You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power for by your will all created things have their being. It is your Word and Spirit living within us that draws us to your Glory. You are our Hope, our Peace, and our Joy. Help us to seek you as we wait patiently for the fulfillment of your promises in our lives. Help us to not despair, but to take up the Full Armor of God and slice through the darkness with your Sword of the Spirit. Help us to walk in active Faith in our God. Reveal your glory in and through us so that our lives reflect the Abundant Life to which you have called us. Fill us to overflowing with your Presence, Power, Spirit, Word, and Hope, we ask in Jesus’s name, AMEN.
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Revelation 4:11 NIV)
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. (John 10:10 AMP)
May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself]. (Ephesians 3:16-19 AMP)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities,against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:10-17 NIV)
