More than occasional encounters

We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love he has for us. God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them. (1 John 4:16 TPT)

As humans infected by the sin of this bent world, it can be challenging to hear God’s Voice and sense his Love. I invite you to hear these words as if God was lovingly whispering them into your spiritual ears. His invitation is always to his Love, Mercy, and Abundant Life.

“I am an endless fountain of love, mercy, and provision. You will never find the end of my love for you. Regardless of how long you have walked with me, there are always new pathways to discover. Ask me, and I will lead you into greater encounters of glory, revelation, and holy bliss.

“Tangible realities of my nearness are available to those who dare to believe, who are willing to take the time to search for my face, and who aren’t content with occasional encounters, but desire something more. Think of the most radical stories you’ve heard of when heaven invaded earthly lives, then take to heart the fact that I want even more for you. There is no limit to my love, no limit to how deep you can go. Impatience will try to squeeze you into an awareness of time, but you must come to me and stay in my presence. Stay there until all sense of time and space fades into the distance and you’re swept into the currents of my glory. Beloved, set aside time for me. Make our relationship your priority.”*

God,

In this place and time, we so need to hear your soothing, loving Voice of Love and Hope. Thank you for the words you speak to us – both in the Bible and by others – who remind us of your faithfulness and lovingkindness. Thank you for your continued invitation and calling to us to go deeper into your spiritual river of Love. Holy Spirit, renew and refresh us in your river so that we can help others find the springs of salvation and the rivers of life you offer us. Thank you for showing us your unlimited Love in Jesus, in whose name we pray these things, AMEN.

Surely God is my salvation;
    I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense;
    he has become my salvation.
With joy [I] will draw water
    from the wells of salvation. (Isaiah 12:2-3 NIV)

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. (Revelation 22:1 NIV)
