Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. (Proverbs 13:12 NIV)
Good morning, God.
Good morning, My Child. What do you have on your mind today?
My friend and her family.
Ah, yes! I know them and they know me. I love them very much.
I believe that God, but they are really struggling.
I know, Beloved.
If you know, and they have asked for help, why do you not step in and do something? Why don’t you move on their behalf? Your Word says you will show yourself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal to you. Are they not loyal enough?
My Child, you cannot see this as I see it. You do not get to judge them – or me – in this situation. You cannot know how I am working.
I know, God, but it seems like they have been waiting so long for you to give them the desires of their hearts. They have committed their ways to you, they trust you, they tithe and give and sow as generously as possible. They have waited faithfully six years now, seemingly with no response on your part. The waiting has been really stressful and hard. The other night she told me that she feels like her hope is deferred forever – like she’s not sure their situation can ever change.
I know her heart, My Child. It is pure. I know her prayers and her commitment to me. I know her struggles and her tears. And I know that plans I have for her family – plans for a future with hope.
Yes, God, but why does it have to be in the future? Why not NOW? They have done all the right things – prayed, fasted, given, served, waited, prayed more, stepped out in faith. Six years is a long time to wait for your own home when you have six boys you’re trying to raise and no hope on the horizon. Why can’t you just come through – now – on their behalf?
Child, I love you, but I cannot tell you how their story will turn out. That is between me and them. They are doing all the things I have asked them. They are so faithful and I love them very much. I am moving on their behalf, but you – and they – cannot see it yet.
God, sometimes you make people wait a long time for their prayers to be answered. Abram and Sarai waited 25 years for a son. Israel waited over 500 years for Messiah to come. I have friends who have been praying and waiting for years for a prodigal child to come back to faith. Other friends are waiting for you to heal them. Other friends are waiting for financial breakthroughs. And we are all waiting for you to move on our behalf for this nation. When will you do something? Your Word says, “Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around.” We’ve had plenty of unrelenting disappointment; when will the “sudden good break” happen?
I love your heart for your friends, but these are questions I cannot answer for you. You know my love, my plans, and my timing are perfect. You cannot understand these situations from my perspective, but know that I love these who are dear to you and I do hear their prayers. I will use all things for my glory, especially for my children whom I love so deeply. Continue to intercede for them; I love hearing your prayers and they are making a difference. Continue to encourage them; they need your love and encouragement. Continue to praise me now, even for what you can’t see yet. Trust me. I AM God.
Ok, God, I’ll do my best.
And I’ll do the rest. I love you, Child.
Some may say it’s hopeless
They must have never met my God
Some may say it’s over
But it was finished on the cross
Some may say it’s broken
But the Healer’s in the room
Some may say it’s hopeless
But I know
God’s about to move
God’s about to move*
God,
Today we intercede for all those whose situations seem impossible and whose hope has seemed deferred for so long. Today we ask you to move on behalf of your precious children who need a miracle in financial, relationship, health, danger, or other situations. We pray that they will be faithful and committed to you, but that a sudden good break will change their circumstances for good. Show yourself strong on behalf of those who are faithful and loyal to you, we ask in Jesus’s name, AMEN.
Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around. (Proverbs 13:12 MSG)
Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. (Psalm 37:5 NKJV)
Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. (2 Corinthians 9:6 NIV)
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. (2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV)
There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. (Proverbs 23:18 NIV)
