I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made
for all people—for kings and all those in authority,
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives
in all godliness and holiness. (1 Timothy 2:1-2 NIV)
God,
Today, we pray for all those involved in the inauguration of President Trump. We ask for your peace and protection to cover each and every person present, including lawmakers, dignitaries, families, and visiting citizens. Grant wisdom, courage, and grace to those in law enforcement and personal protection.
In the name of Jesus, we pray that any attacks from the enemy on this day be thwarted. In the name of Jesus we bind any witchcraft, demonic actions, or any other spiritual force that intends harm or disruption, and we release godliness and peace into that space. May your angelic forces scramble communications, disrupt resources, and prevent those with evil intentions from carrying out their plans.
We pray for a peaceful transition of power. We ask that everyone in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches serve with wisdom, and that they honor the Lord with fear and reverence. May each man and woman in positions of influence be deeply aligned with your heart—seeking your wisdom and filled with love for your goodness, faithfulness, righteousness, and justice. We pray that their work will bring healing to the wounds in this nation, set her on a course of righteousness and justice, and create a society where every person can experience life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We pray that, under the influence of your Spirit, the people of this nation will live peaceful and quiet lives, in all goodliness and holiness.
We ask this in Jesus’s name, AMEN.
Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear
and celebrate his rule with trembling.
Kiss his son, or he will be angry
and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (Psalm 2:10-12 NIV)
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (Mathew 16:19 NIV)
