But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. (Isaiah 64:8 ESV)
Although it’s still just February, I’ve already started preparing for registration to open on March 1 for this summer’s arts camp. So far, I’ve rebuilt the registration forms, updated the website, added a new young adult track, met with several key leaders and workshop instructors, and created both digital and print publicity for the camp. Amid all of this, I’m focusing on staying attuned to what God wants for the campers this summer. When I sense the Spirit offering an idea, I make sure to write it down. I may not always know when to use that idea, but I don’t want to miss anything God has given me. I truly believe that the calling to reach these young artists and empower them to tell God’s story is an important part of His Kingdom work!
Each year, God provides me with wonderful adult artists to work alongside the campers. This year, I’m taking some time to rebalance and regroup in a few areas. The photography leader is stepping down, but thankfully, two others are stepping up to take on that role—praise God! The publicity coordinator is also stepping forward to help launch a new arts leadership track for 18-21-year-olds—thanks be to God! However, there are still a few key roles I haven’t confirmed. Will my camp operations person be returning? Where will I find the nurses we need? Who will lead in the visual arts area? I trust that God gave me this camp to oversee, and I believe He will provide the people we need. In the meantime, would you join me in praying for this camp, and all camps, to have the right personnel?
Visionary God,
Thank you for the callings and dreams you place in our lives, for the creativity you inspire within us, and for the resources you provide to bring those dreams to life. As summer approaches, our arts camp and many other Christian organizations are working to fill personnel roles for camp positions. We pray that you guide the right people to the right roles. We ask that each camp be filled with the leaders it needs, and that those leaders be empowered by your Spirit—enthusiastic about your Kingdom, energized to help young people grow in faith, and humble servants eager to bless your precious children. We trust in your perfect timing, so we ask for patience and peace as these important roles are filled. May the plans we make now be aligned with your will and purposes. We pray this in Jesus’s name, AMEN.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11 ESV)
He has filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold and silver and bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of artistic workmanship. (Exodus 35:31-33 NKJV)
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. (Romans 11:29 ESV)
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23 NIV)
