Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren, but the sinner’s wealth passes to the godly. (Proverbs 13:22 NLT)
Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.
The land you have given me is a pleasant land.
What a wonderful inheritance! (Psalm 16:5-6 NLT)
Lord,
Thank you, Lord, for all the ways you reach out to us—inviting us into your goodness, drawing us close, and pouring out blessings in our lives. Thank you for the legacies left by others—legacies of faith, family, freedom, and so much more. Thank you for the unique purposes and callings you’ve given each of us, and for providing the strength, resources, courage, and joy we need to walk them out.
Today, I lift up every woman who will be attending this retreat. God, as we enter this sacred time together, I ask that you guide every conversation. Let each one unfold exactly as you intend. Direct every word I speak—let me say only what you want said, no more and no less. May the fullness of your Word go forth with power. May each woman be aligned with you, abide in you, and live in the abundance you offer.
Where there is pain, be the Healer.
Where there is grief, be the Comforter.
Where there is apathy, be the Fire.
Where there is indifference, be the Focus.
Where there is confusion, be the Direction.
Pour out your Holy Spirit in each worship session, teaching session, meal, and individual conversation.
Stir up the hunger for you that is within each of us.
Deposit deep and holy things within us.
Call us up to new places of greatness and purpose.
Move as only you can do in each of us.
May the deposits you give us this weekend become strong, righteous, Kingdom-purposes and legacies that honor you and give you glory.
May we leave this retreat stronger in you, stronger in our relationships with each other, and with a strengthened focus on leaving a godly legacy for those that come behind.
We ask all this in the strong name of Jesus Christ our Lord, AMEN.
