Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalm 25:5)
We proclaim the name of the Lord and declare the greatness of our God. There is no one like you. You are our rock — your works are perfect, and all your ways are just. You are faithful, upright, and merciful. You do no wrong. Thank you, Jesus, that you are the way, the truth, and the life. You promise that when we ask, you give us the Holy Spirit to bring revelation, wisdom, and discernment.
Today, we boldly approach your throne of glory, asking you to pour out your Spirit of discernment on all who call you Lord and Savior.
Lord, the world is full of voices — chattering, speaking, whispering, even screaming. We admit that we are often drawn to these voices, unsure which ones truly reflect yours. Grant us clarity to hear your voice — and your voice alone. Give us discernment to reject false reports, deception, and lies, and to recognize your truth — whether in media reports, on social media, or especially within your Church.
Among those who claim to follow you, there is great diversity of thought. While that can reflect your creativity in making us unique, it can also be a warning sign of the enemy’s influence in your Church. So, Lord, give us discernment — sharp and Spirit-led — to know which voices in the Church and in society truly reflect your character, your will, and your truth.
It is time for you to act, Lord. Your law — the law of life, love, truth, and justice — is being broken. Root out wickedness from your Church and from our culture. Guide us in your truth and teach us, for you are our God and Savior, and our hope is in you all day long. Give us wise and discerning hearts so that we may recognize your truth and walk in the freedom that truth brings.
We pray all this in the strong name of Christ, and we plead for the intervention of the Holy Spirit.
So be it. AMEN.
