The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. (Psalm 34:17 NIV)
Have you ever lost your voice? Sometimes when we catch a bug—or when we yell, shout, or sing too much—we temporarily lose the ability to speak or sing. A dear friend of mine has been dealing with this for the past 18 months. She’s a gifted singer who likely overused her voice, but despite resting and going through vocal therapy, her condition hasn’t improved. In fact, her vocal range has diminished, and she now struggles to sing at all. It’s been hard for us, her friends, to watch her wait patiently on the Lord for healing without seeing it come yet.
As a homeschooling mom of three, a church worship leader, and a conference speaker, she needs a breakthrough in this situation. Would you please join me in praying for “Kelsey?”
God,
You spoke the world into existence and made us in your image, giving us the ability to create with our words. We know that spoken words carry power, so when we lose the ability to speak or sing, it limits how we can fulfill what you’ve called us to do.
Today we lift up “Kelsey” and all who are unable to speak or sing. You know the power of spoken truth, the power of sung praise, and the frustration and sorrow that come with losing one’s voice. In the name of Jesus, we ask for breakthrough.
We pray that anything—physical, spiritual, or emotional—that is causing this loss of voice would be removed. We declare that anything the enemy has taken must be restored. We ask for full reclamation of her vocal health—every part and every process—so she can fully regain her singing range and her ability to speak.
We bind anything not from you that is contributing to this struggle, and we release your healing into her body. We claim deliverance and victory in this situation. Open her voice so she can sing, praise, and proclaim your Word. Heal her so her testimony of faith and restoration can encourage others and further your Kingdom purposes. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, our Savior, and our Healer. AMEN.
Lord, I cry out to you out of the depths of my despair! Hear my voice, O God! Answer this prayer and hear my plea for mercy…This is why I wait upon you, expecting your breakthrough, for your Word brings me hope. (Psalm 130:1, 5 TPT)
I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten… (Joel 2:25 NIV)
The Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before. (Job 42:10 NIV)
But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord… (Jeremiah 30:7 NIV)
Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise. (Psalm 51:15 NIV)
