Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! (Psalm 8:1 NIV)
Creating God,
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! Thank You for the amazing and wonderful things You have made. From the sun and moon to the earth and seas, from the birds and fish to the animals and people, from the vast reaches of the universe to the intricate processes within living cells, we give You thanks. You are a good Creator and the Giver of every good gift.
Thank You for the beautiful children You have created to love, honor, serve, and worship You. Thank You for these precious gifts to the world. As our arts camp begins today, we pray that each camper would hear and receive the truth of their identity as a beloved child of God. May they recognize that they are gifts to the world, and may they come to know the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
For those campers who have not yet received this gift of grace, we pray that Your Holy Spirit would speak to their hearts and that they would respond in faith. May each camper know deeply the love You have for them, and may their spirits be open to all that You desire to say and do in their lives throughout this week.
We pray that this first day would be filled with joy, new and renewed friendships, excellent teaching, and abundant fun. We ask that Your angels would watch over every camper, every volunteer, and all the families represented here. Remove every obstacle that might hinder those who are planning to come, and grant safe arrivals for all.
May You bless us and keep us. May You make Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us. May You lift up Your countenance upon us and give us Your peace and favor.
We ask all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ. AMEN.
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a strongholdagainst your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth! (Psalm 8 NIV)
