He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9, WEB)

Our God is not mystical or magical.

He is the Father who kneels beside the broken,

the Shepherd who searches for the lost,

the Savior who reaches into the pit.

He doesn’t love only the righteous,

the kind,

or the good—

for then He would have no one to love.

I may look whole on the outside,

the perfect Christian,

the sunshine life.

But my God sees beyond the smile.

He knows the sins I hide,

the regrets that haunt me,

the fears that steal my sleep,

the mistakes I wish I could erase.

Yet He does not run from me.

He steps closer.

Where shame says, “Hide,”

His love says, “Come.”

My God is not just my God.

He is waiting to be yours.

He didn’t hang on a cross

simply to make my life easier.

He carried nails for you.

He carried your chains,

your burdens,

your guilt,

your fear—

so you wouldn’t have to carry them forever.

The road won’t be easy.

Valleys never are.

But you will never walk them alone.

When your strength gives out,

His remains.

When your faith trembles,

His hand does not.

Because our God did what no other god could do.

He defeated death,

hell,

and the grave.

He walked out of the tomb

as the resurrected King.

And even after He conquered death,

He knew we would still need help.

So He gave us His Spirit—

our Comforter,

our Helper,

our Guide.

Not to walk ahead of us,

or behind us,

but beside us.

Every step.

Every battle.

Every victory.

Accept Him,

and He won’t just be my God—

He’ll be our God.

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18, WEB)

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost. (Luke 19:10, WEB)

But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8, WEB)

Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16, WEB)

But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:5–6, WEB)

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28–30, WEB)

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4, WEB)

I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever: the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive, for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you. (John 14:16–18, WEB)

But when this corruptible body will have become incorruptible, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: Death is swallowed up in victory. Death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Corinthians 15:54–57, WEB)

God,

Help us to recognize your grace as you walk with us through life. Help us to claim the promises you offer in Jesus Christ, and to live life under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We ask in Jesus’s name, AMEN.
