Behold, I am YAHWEH, God of all the world. Nothing is impossible with me. (Jeremiah 32:27 TPT)

I read this article by Dr. Zac Breckenridge on social media last week, and believe it to be very encouraging for parents who are waiting for their wayward or prodigal children to come home.

The fear that your children will walk away from God is not a prophecy. It is a pressure. And it has been preaching to you louder than the promise.
You have lain awake doing the math. Their age. Their friends. The way they stopped coming to church, or never started. You have replayed every Sunday you were too tired, every time you lost your temper, every conversation you wish you could take back. And somewhere along the way, you started believing their future depends on how well you hold it together.
Here is what I need you to understand.
The seed you planted is not subject to the timeline of your anxiety. It is subject to the timeline of His faithfulness.
The Hebrew word for seed is zera. It is the same word for what a farmer sows into the ground and for the children who come after you. In Isaiah 44:3, God says, “I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring.” Then He says they will spring up like willows by the water, and one will say, “I am the LORD’s.” God does not separate what you planted from who you are raising. In His eyes, your children are seed. And seed does its most important work underground, where no one can see it.
Jesus is the one who saves your children. You cannot do that for them, and you were never asked to. But you were asked to stand over the field and pray while the seed does what seed does.
Your child may not be able to pray right now. They may not want to. They cannot see what God is growing in them. But you can…
Lay the fear down long enough to pick up what God actually said. The ground is not empty. The seed is still in it.

Lord God,
Today we lift up prodigal and wayward children in prayer. We ask that every Kingdom seed planted within them will spring to life, and that the Holy Spirit will draw them back into a deep, intimate relationship with you. Grant us the patience to trust you as we wait and pray. You are always faithful to your promises, so remind us that nothing is impossible for you and that you give life to the lost. We pray this in Jesus’s name, AMEN.

The Son of Man has come to seek out and to give life to those who are lost. (Luke 19:10 TPT)
Arise, cry aloud through the night as each watch begins. Pour your heart out like water before the presence of Yahweh . Raise your hands toward him; intercede for the lives of your children, who faint with hunger on every street corner. (Lamentations 2:19 TPT)
