“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you…”
(Colossians 1:9 NIV)
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.”
(1 Timothy 2:1 NIV)
God,
Thank you for teaching us to pray, for guiding us in prayer, and for giving us opportunities to commune with you in prayer. We are so grateful that you are always listening, always available, and always aware of our needs.
Today, I come to you in intercession for several people. I ask that you meet them where they are with healing, grace, and your deep shalom.
- healing for eight-year-old “Clara” who has a peach-sized brain tumor
- justice for 84-year-old “Mary” and the person(s) who stole $4000 from her bank account
- healing for “Donna” who had knee replacement surgery and is caring for her husband who has dementia
- wisdom and provision for “Scott” who has been caring for his chronically ill wife for three years and healing for his wife
- teaching and discipling for the 26 people who prayed the prayer of salvation last weekend at church
- stamina, healing, and grace for “Emily” who is pregnant with her seventh child, ill, and exhausted
- healing for “Gerald” who has a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease
- wisdom and discernment for “Kira” who is trying to buy a new home for herself and her grandson
- favor for “Laura” who is trying to navigate a civil suit against the estate of her aunt in California
- wisdom, discernment, and joy for my single 70- and 80-something friends who, whether divorced or widowed, have reentered the dating world
- financial provision, healing, and marriage and family restoration for “Brian,” his wife, and their five kids
- restoration and healing for my son who is facing a hip surgery later this summer
- healing for our dog who has a diagnosis of bladder cancer
God, giving you a simple list of all these situations feels incomplete. But I believe that lifting them to your throne of glory will help them, so, I ask. Provide for what they need. Grant wisdom, favor, discernment, resources, relationships, healing, and grace upon grace. We pray for these and all those you bring to mind today. Bless them anew, we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN.
