This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24 NLT)
Thank you for covering camp in prayer this week. It’s been quite a week for me, but the campers seem to be enjoying it and there’s a generally good spirit about the place.
Well, minus one 11 y.o. boy who hates being forced to wear shoes! 🤪
I will have to write more later, but I wanted to ask you to pray for a couple of big things.
First, in the morning we have our last devotions, focusing on JOY, which we close by offering the kids a chance to be prayed over by different adults on the staff. We call this Consecration. My hope and prayer is that this “seals” in the spiritual deposits of the week.
The campers have final workshops, then a dress rehearsal for our program, then set up for it, then a talent show and a picnic. The actual program will be where we show off all the music, drama, dance, ASL, etc. from the week in front of 300-400 parents and others. Would you please pray for the picnic and Showcase?
After Showcase we still have to tear down and pack away camp, then clean up the building because there is a church funeral the next day. So, if you would add in some prayers for strength, stamina, and plenty of hands to make light work, that would be amazing!
Thank you for your prayers. I appreciate you!
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me,
for the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
and prisoners will be freed.
He has sent me to tell those who mourn
that the time of the Lord’s favor has come,
and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
To all who mourn in Israel,
he will give a crown of beauty for ashes,
a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
festive praise instead of despair.
In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks
that the Lord has planted for his own glory. (Isaiah 61:1-3 NLT)
