Cora updates

I am the Lord who heals you. (Exodus 15:26 AMP)

Thank you, Mountain Moving friends, for praying for 8 year old “Cora” who had a brain tumor removed last week. Here is an update from her mom as of Monday 8/25:

Praising God for so many things! It’s been a busy 24 hours. Here is an update of what has happened since the last post.

*Her MRI looked great. We haven’t spoke to her surgeon yet, but the surgeon that was on call said it looked good and that he believes they got a majority of the tumor. His estimate was upwards of about 90%. Possibly more. We will get a better idea when we see her actual surgeon.

*They moved her out of PICU last night!!! So we are no longer in ICU!! ❤️❤️ which means more rest for her and another step forward

*The PT and OT doctors set a goal for her to sit in a chair 3 times for 20 minutes. She not only completed that, but also got up and walked a few more times. When asked if she wanted to be carried, she said “no, I want to walk”!!!!!💝

*She was too tired for her swallow test last night so we were planning that for today. There was a different speech therapist that came in this morning. She watched her drink and then let her try some applesauce. Cora was able to eat that slowly. So, we are holding off the video swallow test until her throat is stronger. For now they have cleared her to eat purée 3 times a day!!! She was so happy to have something to eat after no food since Thursday.

*We will be seeing the ophthalmologist today and her surgeon. Praying for great results with them. Also more pt/ot today.

*Cora still has some facial paralysis on her right side. Drs are confident that nothing was cut or damaged during surgery and believe this is just from the nerves being moved and irritated so it will resolve itself after some time. Continuing to pray for that.

*Her incision is looking great! So praying that the risk of spinal fluid leak is done.

I think that is all! Please continue to pray for our sweet girl. She really is a rockstar! Thank you all!”

Jehovah Rapha,

We praise you for this good report from the doctors, but we especially praise you for the ways in which you are healing Cora. Thank you for the power of prayer that helped this surgery be a success. Thank you for the healing and recovery you are doing in her body. We pray you will continue to knit her body back together, that every organ and system would function exactly as you designed it to, and that she would be returned to full health and full energy, in Jesus’s name! AMEN.
