“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,
may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation,
so that you may know him better.”
(Ephesians 1:17 NIV)
God of Grace and Glory,
Thank you for inviting us to be your children and then helping us grow strong in the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for your tender love toward all your devoted ones. Our hearts are always full and overflowing with thanks. We pray that you, our Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, would impart to us the riches of the Spirit of wisdom and the Spirit of revelation to know you as our intimacy with you deepens. We pray that your light, oh God, will illuminate our spirits, our hearts, our eyes, and our imaginations, flooding us with light, until we experience the full revelation of the hope of the calling to be your children—that is, the wealth of your glorious inheritances that you find in us, your holy ones!
We pray that you will continually reveal to us the immeasurable greatness of your power made available to us through our faith. May our lives be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through us! Thank you that we have within us the mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and exalted him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realms! We know he is exalted as first above every ruler, authority, government, and realm of power in existence! He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is ever praised, not only in this age, but in the age that is coming. And he alone is the leader and source of everything needed in your Church. You have put everything beneath the authority of Jesus Christ and given him the highest rank above all others.
Thank you that now we, his church, are his body on the earth and the Spirit which fills him also fills us! We pray you would give us the fullness of Holy Spirit within us so that we know our individual callings, live out grace in our lives, love others and ourselves as we love you, and live in your Light and Wisdom. May we pray passionately in the Spirit as we intercede in prayer at all times for all people. And may your blessings and revelation be upon all believers. We praise and glorify you, our Good God and pray this in Christ’s name. Amen.
