Someone dear to me posts poetry that speaks to me on her social media account. I received permission to share them with my Mountain Movers audience, so I invite you to read this slowly, and listen for what the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord might say to you through it.
Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty— he is the King of glory. (Psalm 24:10 NIV)
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. (Exodus 40:34-35 NIV)
May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works. (Psalm 104:31 NIV)
The glory of the Lord
rests upon the room I am in—
a gift from heaven.
Thick like a cloud,
it fills every corner.
My breath escapes my lungs
as I behold the weight
of the King of Kings.
I fall to my knees,
for worship is my only response.
His glory is so overwhelming
my body cannot remain standing.
Oh, how I long
to dwell beneath the weight of Your glory.
To lay aside the weights of this world—
the worry,
the fear,
the pain—
and be wrapped in Your presence
like a blanket.
In Your glory,
I am protected.
I am loved.
I am a daughter of the King.
In Your presence,
my heart weeps with gratitude
for the grace You have given,
the peace You have spoken,
and the life of Your only Son.
All for me.
All so I could spend eternity with You.
Why would I ever discard
such a gift—
a gift immeasurable,
incomparable,
beyond words?
Lord, let me soak in Your presence.
Let me carry it wherever I go
until it overflows from every part of me,
spilling from my life
for all to see.
Let Your fire burn so deeply within me
that silence becomes painful,
and my testimony
cannot be contained.
I will never have enough of You, Lord.
So come—
let Your glory fill the room.
And when I leave,
let Your glory remain upon me,
transforming me into Your image,
until the world sees
less of me
and more of You.

God of Grace and God of Glory,
Help us to be people who hunger after you, who seek you first, and desire your holiness and glory above all other things.
We ask in Jesus’s name, AMEN.
