[Please join me in praying for the Church on Sundays this year.]

Lost-Seeking God,

Thank you for the true Church, your Body, who is filled by the fullness of Jesus Christ. Thank you for Holy Spirit’s leading in the Church and your People who are seeking to hear from you. Thank you that you came to seek we who were once lost but now are found, and thank you for the leadership you have placed in the Church. We pray that your Spirit would pour out strategies, vision, and hope into those who lead your people. We pray against any discouragement, disappointment, weariness, or hurt and pray that you would be very near to the brokenhearted in ministry. Today we pray that churches would honor, encourage, and show appreciation to their Shepherds and to their families. May they be held in high regard because of their work. We pray that they would be bold, strong preachers of Biblical truth and the Gospel, that you would stretch out your powerful hand through them to heal, and that you will move in signs and wonders as they proclaim the name of Jesus. We pray that your Church will have a great discernment to know what is good and evil in these days. We pray that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened in order that we may know the hope to which you have called us, the riches of your glorious inheritance in your holy people, and your incomparably great power for us who believe. We ask all this in the strong name of Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, AMEN.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10 NIV)

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” (Ephesians 1:17-23 NIV)

“Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.” (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 NIV)

“So now, Lord, listen to their threats to harm us. Empower us, as your servants, to speak the word of God freely and courageously. Stretch out your hand of power through us to heal, and to move in signs and wonders by the name of your holy Son, Jesus!” (Acts 4:29-30 TPT)

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:37-38 NIV)

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18 NIV)

“Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.” (Joel 2:29 NIV)
