In abundance

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
(2 Peter 1:2 NIV)

The thirteen letters of Apostle Paul all start with him blessing the recipients with “grace and peace.” In 1 Corinthians 1:3 (NIV), for example, he says, “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Not to be outdone, Peter starts his letters with, “Grace and peace be yours in abundance…”

I don’t know about you, but I certainly am grateful for God’s gifts of Grace and Peace, and I love the idea of them offered to me in abundance.

“In abundance” is why one kernel of corn planted as a seed produces about 800 new kernels on a new cob.

“In abundance” is why one evangelist like John Wesley or DL Moody or Billy Graham can bring hundreds of thousands to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

“In abundance” is Jesus telling us that “I came that [you] may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” (John 10:10 AMP)

What does the abundant life look like? Not just a little bit of joy or peace—but overflowing love, grace, peace, joy, and hope. I want abundant relationships—first with God, and then with others. I want abundant provision, abundant purpose, abundant fruit, and ultimately, abundant eternity.

And I want that for you, too.

It doesn’t matter how young or old you are. It doesn’t matter if you feel like you’re not talented enough, smart enough, wealthy enough, or spiritual enough. God’s abundance isn’t reserved for the “elite” Christians. It’s for everyone who is hungry and willing to receive. I want you to live a life so full of God’s Word and Spirit that it spills out into every conversation, every relationship, every act of love or service.

So, how do we step into that kind of abundance?

Living an abundant life isn’t about owning a lot or doing a lot—it’s a heart, mind, and spirit posture. It’s about tapping into the wellspring of the Holy Spirit that lives within us. Abundant living means we live counter-culturally. It means we reject the anxiety, chaos, and emptiness of the world and instead choose to live in peace, purpose, and joy—rooted in the presence of God.

The legacy you leave, the fruit you bear, and the abundance you carry—all flow from being filled with God’s Word and Spirit. When you live from that overflow, you impact generations, shift spiritual atmospheres, and glorify God in every part of your life.

That’s the kind of legacy worth living for.

Lord, you are good, and your mercy endures forever.
Your love has captured our hearts, and your grace has transformed our lives.
Thank you for the Abundant Life you offer us through Christ—
not only physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and relationally.
You meet every need and fill us with your Spirit.

Help us reject the voices of the world that do not reflect your truth.
Teach us to live fully in your purpose, your presence, your peace, and your joy.

May the fruit of our lives impact generations, shift spiritual atmospheres,
and bring glory to you in all we do.

We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, AMEN.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 KJV)

“My God will richly fill your every need in a glorious way through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 GW)

“And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 AMP)
