Emmanuel, God with Us,
Thank you for all the many ways in which you reveal yourself to us. Thank you that you, the Word, became flesh and dwelt among us, and that you, the Holy Spirit, have come to live in believers. Thank you that on this Epiphany we can remember the ways in which God With Us IS with us. As Epiphany is a manifestation of your divinity, we pray now for a manifestation of your presence to pour out in this nation. We pray for an outpouring of Holy Spirit on the people in this nation so that a renewal and revival in your Church can precede a Great Awakening in this nation. Turn hearts and minds toward you; empower our spirits to seek you and your Kingdom first. Like Paul, let scales fall from peoples’ eyes that they might repent and be baptized with water and your Spirit. We pray a manifestation of your Spirit would be seen in the Congressional and judicial proceedings around the disputed November 3 election. Pour out your great wisdom and discernment on all those making these historic and precedent-setting decisions, but break the power of wickedness and evil that is also present in Congress and the judiciary. May all decisions be completely informed by your Wisdom, Truth, and Grace and may all evil be thwarted. Where there is wickedness, evil, or corruption, may it be exposed by your Light of Justice and Righteousness and may you cause to fall the “scales” from eyes of those who have believed in the lies of the enemy. May the manifestation of your angel armies and your Spirit’s power be so heavy upon decision makers, the media, and the populace this week that we see breakthroughs in legal and, especially, spiritual dimensions. We, like David, proclaim that YOU bring the breakthroughs, that YOU burst through your enemies like a raging flood. Thank You, Lord, for the manifestation of your Presence, for the privilege of partnering with You for Your cause in the earth, and for the breakthroughs your Spirit and angel armies are bringing. May You be glorified through your Church, her People, and this nation once again. In the powerful name of Christ we pray, So Be It, Amen.
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 NIV)
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:33 NLT)
“Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized.” (Acts 9:18 NIV)
“So David and his troops went up to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “God did it!” David exclaimed. “He used me to burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” So they named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who bursts through”).” (1 Chron. 14:11 NLT)
