October 15, 2020 Prayer

 God of Light,

We thank you for your illuminating power in our lives and in our government.  We know that now is the time you are searching out, tearing down, and killing the spiritual forces of evil which seek to undermine and attack good governance. And we thank you that you are already bringing your Light of Truth to places of deep darkness, corruption, and fraud. We pray you will continue to put into place the courageous, wise, and godly people and systems to expose and eliminate all types of corruption and fraud, both in the government and in the voting/balloting system.  We pray for integrity and honor to be poured out on those who work in these areas so that the will of the voters will be clearly and honestly expressed and tallied, and so our government will be filled with employees who do their jobs to build up this nation and protect and support her federal and state Constitutions.  As evil is exposed and replaced with your Light, may your Peace be poured into this nation.  In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2     a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3     a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4     a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5     a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6     a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7     a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8     a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.” (Eccl. 3)
“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.” (2 Chronicles 7:13-16 NIV)
