Pray for Camp

“Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.”

(Psalm 115:1 NIV)

God,

As I write this I am looking forward to next week and the 5th-12th grade arts day camp I direct. I am so grateful that you downloaded the idea for the camp into my spirit/mind, and that I have an amazing group of volunteers to make it happen. I’m so grateful for the new ideas for this year’s camp, for the returning students from last year’s camp, and for the 32 new students this year. As I’ve worked, talked, thought, prayed, worked, and worked some more on camp, I keep coming back to the vision for camp: that you will be glorified as these students grow in their faith and artistry and understand your mark on their lives to serve you in the Church and the greater world. God, help me remember your Big Picture this week. Help me not get bogged down in details, but to remember that each of these lives are precious to you. You have called each of them for a purpose. You have something to say to each of them through the camp. Help them to tune in to your voice, to hear your whispers in their spirits, and to recognize the Holy Spirit nudges within them as you move. Help them to not be afraid of you, but to embrace your love and grace and power in their lives. Help them to seek you and your Kingdom first in everything they do – especially in using their artistic gifts. May this whole week be full of your presence, your power, and your anointing. Not to us, Lord, but to your name be all glory, honor, and praise! We ask these things in Jesus’s name, AMEN.

“You are precious and honored in my sight, and…I love you.” (Isaiah 43:4 NIV)

“we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NIV)

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33 NIV)
