[The following post and prayer were posted on the social media account for Todd Coconato, someone I do not know, but I very much resonate with his call to prayer. ]
As we press into these [14] more days of prayer leading up to the inauguration, we are reminded of the spiritual battle we face as a nation. Today, we set our hearts to pray for God’s supernatural protection over the United States. In a time when terror and violence threaten to sow fear and chaos, we look to the One who is our fortress, our shield, and our stronghold.
The enemy’s schemes are always rooted in destruction and division, but we serve a God who is mighty to save. He thwarts the plans of the wicked and causes their weapons to fail. Let us pray boldly today, asking the Lord to confuse and dismantle every plot of the enemy. May He expose hidden plans of terror and strengthen the resolve of those entrusted with protecting our nation.
As we intercede, we also pray for the hearts of the people in our nation. Fear can often grip our hearts when we see uncertainty or danger, but we are not a people without hope. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and through Him, we can declare peace over our homes, our communities, and our land.
Prayer Points:
1. Protection Over the Nation
Pray for God to shield every city, town, and gathering place. Ask Him to surround key locations with His angelic hosts, keeping watch over all who live and work there. Declare His promise in Psalm 91:10–11:
“No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”
2. Wisdom for Leaders and Authorities
Pray for those in positions of leadership in government, law enforcement, and security. Ask God to grant them discernment and courage to act swiftly and wisely to prevent harm.
3. Thwarting Enemy Plans
Pray for divine intervention to dismantle and expose any terror plots or schemes of violence. Ask the Lord to shine His light in the darkness so that no plan of evil may prosper.
4. Peace for the People
Pray against fear and anxiety, declaring the peace of Christ over every heart. Ask God to unite His people in prayer and faith, that we might shine His light in this critical hour.
Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. Today, we lift up the United States of America, asking for Your supernatural protection. Shield us from every scheme of the enemy. Expose and dismantle any hidden plans of terror and guard every leader, law enforcement officer, and citizen with Your mighty hand. Fill us with Your peace, Lord, so that we will not be shaken by fear or uncertainty. Raise up Your Church in this hour to intercede with faith, boldness, and love. We trust in You, our fortress and deliverer, and we declare that no weapon formed against us will prosper. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Let us remain steadfast in prayer, knowing that God hears and answers the cries of His people. Together, we stand on His promises, believing for His protection and peace in this pivotal time.
