So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)
Fear
by Kahlil Gibran
It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.
And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the river will know
it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.
God,
Help us not to fear when things change. Help us to not look back at the past, but to embrace the good future you have for us. Help us to trust you, the Living Water within us, to move us forward in life, always forward, into your Abundance and Grace. Your Word tells us over and over “DO NOT FEAR,” so help us release fear and embrace your Hope, we ask in Jesus’s name, AMEN.
In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? (Psalm 56:5 NKJV)
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Psalm 118:6 NKJV)
