Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. (Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT)
____
Today I share with you updates on two young people who I’ve invited you to pray for.
________
From the mom of “7 year old Aiden”
During surgery, they were unable to repair the narrowed and inflamed duodenum as planned, so they performed a bypass instead. We are grateful his surgeon was able to successfully make that adjustment and do what was best for him. We are believing for continued healing and that this season will soon be behind us the road to wholeness is ahead. Thank you so much for continuing to pray for him and for all the love and support it truly means more than we can say.
There’s something so special on his life. At just 7 years old, he has walked through this season with a faith, peace, and strength that can only come from God. Even the medical team was so impressed by him, his faith, positivity and how well spoken he was. We believe this is just the beginning, God will use his story, his compassion, and his faith to bring hope and healing to others.
_______
From the mom of 9 year old “Cora”
Thank you all so much for every prayer, message, and word of encouragement. We have felt so loved and carried through today. Her surgeon is confident there will be long-term recovery on her right side of her face, and we are so thankful for that hope.
She was able to do even more than we expected during this 8-hour surgery. She ran a second nerve bridge to help with her full eye closure, which we did not expect. She connected the left facial nerves to the right side using a nerve she split from her leg. She also did a “babysitter procedure,” grafting one of the working facial nerves on the right to one of the non-working nerves.
The surgeon shared that Cora’s existing nerves looked to be in good shape, and she believes they have already been healing on their own. Today’s procedure should help support and strengthen that healing process over time.
Already, Cora has been up walking (slowly), has minimal pain, and only some facial swelling and bruising. Overall, she is doing really well. She has an incision from the top of each ear down to the jaw, along with a small incision under her top lip.
We are praising God for all He has done and continues to do. Thank you for standing with us, praying for her, and continuing to pray with us for complete healing in the days ahead.

Jehova Rapha,
We praise you for the healing you have already brought to these two young people following their surgeries. Thank you for the ways the medical community has cared for and helped them. We pray for a smooth recovery for each of them, free from infection or complications.
We also thank you for the families, church communities, and friends who have been praying faithfully. Refresh and bless them in your Spirit for the ways they have supported others. We ask for continued healing, that both of these young people would be restored to full health and renewed strength, in Jesus’s name. AMEN.
The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. (Proverbs 11:25 NLT)
