The Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us. (Isaiah 33:22 NIV)

King of Kings, Lord of Lords,
You are exalted, for You dwell on high, filling Your people with justice and righteousness. You are the sure foundation for our times, a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. You are our Judge, our Lawgiver, our King, and the One who saves us. Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, we thank You that You are sovereign over every aspect of our civic lives.
You are our true tower of strength, our safe place, our refuge, and our shelter when the world feels chaotic. You call us to obedience, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarrels, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy to all. We pray that Your love would abound in us more and more, in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may discern what is best and remain pure and blameless for the day of Christ.
Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have been silent in the face of evil—for our inattention, apathy, discouragement, and failure to pray faithfully for those in authority. Give us hearts that seek You first. Help us discern, pray, speak, and act from hearts filled with Your Spirit. Teach us to overcome evil with good and to stand boldly for Your truth, justice, mercy, and grace.
Your Word calls us to honor and submit to the authorities You have established, yet it also reminds us that You do not align Yourself with corrupt rulers who empower evil and oppose what is right. Lord, we ask You to expose corruption, remove fraud and deception, and bring repentance and transformation wherever it is needed. We pray you will break the power of the wicked, and cut off the authority of any person in government who is not aligned with you.
Lord, place godly people around those in authority who will speak truth with love and point them toward You. Turn the hearts and minds of leaders toward Your ways. Help them seek wisdom from above rather than the desires of the flesh or the influence of the enemy. Thwart every plan designed to harm this nation, our communities, and the people You love. Your wisdom is profound, Your power is vast, and You alone move mountains.
Guard our own hearts, Lord. Keep us from bitterness, anger, pride, and contempt. Give us courage without arrogance, conviction without hatred, and truth spoken with love. Help us remember that our ultimate hope is not found in governments or leaders, but in You alone.
Where there are godly, Spirit-led leaders, help us honor their authority with joy, knowing they will give an account to You for their decisions. Help us live in peace with everyone and pursue holiness. Today we pray for godly city council members, school board members, county commissioners, judges at all levels, state representatives and senators, federal representatives and senators, Attorneys General, Secretaries of State, Lieutenant Governors, Governors, the President and Vice President, their Cabinet, and all who serve in positions of authority.
We pray that those filling these positions would have hearts surrendered to Jesus Christ, be filled with the Holy Spirit, display character that reflects Your heart, and be diligent in Your Word and prayer. Raise up righteous leaders across our nation who will honor You and seek justice, righteousness, and peace.
All this we pray in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ. AMEN and AMEN!
