There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV)
A long time ago, a popular song by The Byrds brought the words of Ecclesiastes to life. Its chorus reminds us:
To everything (Turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (Turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose under heaven*
The song draws directly from the Bible, reminding us that life moves through different seasons, each with its own purpose. Ecclesiastes puts it this way:
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,

Today, on this first Tuesday in November 2026, we, too, can pray for a turning—a turning away from division and toward truth, righteousness, healing, and peace.
All-Powerful God,
We cry out to You for the future of this nation.
We pray and declare that Your truth, justice, and righteousness will be the foundation underlying every voting decision.
In the name of Jesus, we pray and declare that righteous believers in every precinct, in every county across this nation, will recognize their calling to be salt and light and will vote accordingly.
We pray that everyone working today’s elections will be free from transportation difficulties, personal emergencies, and any other obstacles that might prevent them from fulfilling their responsibilities with integrity.
We pray that every eligible vote will be counted accurately, that the results of each race will be reported clearly, and that the elections will be resolved as promptly and peacefully as possible.
We pray that Your angel armies will thwart every plan of the enemy to stir up anger, fear, or violence in response to the election results.
We pray and declare that this day will mark a turning point for our nation. May we release and put away dissension, deep division, bitterness, anger, and hatred toward our fellow citizens.
Teach us how to fight against the evil spirits rather than against people.
Where our citizens have been deceived by the enemy’s lies, we pray and declare that Your gentle, loving truth will replace deception and bring understanding.
We pray and declare that NOW is the time to uproot evil ideas, the time to heal our nation, the time to build for our future, the time to laugh in the face of challenges, the time to embrace hope and optimism, and the time to embrace peace.
We pray and declare that the upheaval and chaos of these past ten years will give way to a season of domestic and international peace, economic prosperity, and renewed hope for our people and our nation’s future.
We pray and declare REVIVAL in your Church, AWAKENING in our society, and REFORMATION in our culture.
Lord Jesus, may Your Kingdom come and Your will be done as we turn our hearts toward You. Lead us into the season You desire for our nation.
We pray all this in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
